Just when we thought we couldn’t take in one more charming village—or one more memorable meal—along came Lake Orta. Smaller, quieter, and with an unmistakably elegant feel, it was like discovering Italy’s best-kept secret. The lake shimmered, the villas felt refined, and everything carried a subtle “high-end” grace. A short boat ride carried us to the island monastery, where centuries of quiet devotion seemed to linger in the stone corridors. As if that weren’t enough, our guide surprised us all with a round of drinks at the most exotic, delightfully flamboyant coffee shop imaginable—one last shared laugh overlooking the water. Then came our farewell dinner. Course after course arrived with polished presentation, flowing wine, and flavors that surprised us yet again. It was festive, heartfelt, and wonderfully Italian—a true buona sera to a journey we will never forget.
