From Levanto, we simply wandered to the station and in minutes were gliding south along the Ligurian coast. The train slipped through tunnels and burst out to flashes of blue sea and terraced vineyards, delivering us village by village into the colorful magic of Cinque Terre—pastel houses, tiny harbors, and salty breezes. We hopped on and off with ease, strolling cliffside paths and narrow lanes scented with focaccia and lemon. No car, no stress—just scenic rides and seaside walks. More than once we looked at each other and thought, “We’re really here.” And it was every bit as beautiful as promised.
